Fetch Dog Rescue was founded in March of 2023, by 4 partners who are incredibly passionate about helping to save dogs who wouldn't otherwise have a voice. We are all dog lovers and have committed our lives to taking dogs from bad situations and helping them find their loving forever homes in the CT area.

Our dogs come from across the Southern states. Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas are just a few states that are struggling with over crowded shelters, spay and neuter laws and strays.
We work with rescue partners to take into care dogs of all breeds and provide medical care, transport and assist in the placement into their forever homes in the Fairfield county area of Connecticut. We have strong relationships with these partners and they stay in constant communication with us during this process. Our partners also do dog and child testing, and some do cats as well.

Medical care is provided immediately upon bringing the dog into rescue. A reputable vet in the area provides all vaccinations (except lyme which can be provided in CT) and spay/neuter when applicable. They also provide the dog with a health certificate which legally allows them to travel between states.
Upon entering CT, they are seen by our partner vet BESPOKE Veterinary Clinic for a check up and a health certificate to ensure they are in good health and UTD on vaccinations.

Most of the dogs we bring up from the south haven’t been well cared for by their owners. They have often spent the majority of their lives tied up outside with little human interaction or they have been dumped or left to fend for themselves by their “owners”. We also pull a lot of dogs from shelters, where they have spent days, weeks or some - even months.
When we bring a dog into rescue they go immediately to one of our southern fosters where they learn to live inside, acquire basic commands and experience love and adoration. They also learn how to live with other dogs inside and quickly adapt and become trained on basic skills and commands.
All of our dogs are dog tested and child tested. That means they get along with other dogs and do well with children.
If you are interested in further training, we work with the wonderful trainers from Wild River Kennels, who will help to transition your new pup into your family and home.
Remember - all dogs take time to adjust and transition into their new environments. If you put in the work - you will reap the benefits.

Our dogs are brought up to CT on our partner transport companies who are reputable and who we have very good relationships with. They are trustworthy and keep our dogs safe on their journey to their second chance at life.
